INSPIRATION SKETCHES CAD PROTOTYPE PRODUCT

The Godbold Chair - Thomas Hayes Studio

As described in the work section - Timothy Godbold is a well-known Los Angeles based designer. He came to Thomas Hayes Studio to design a custom chair inspired by a three legged chair that could swivel. The chair began by creating a simple structure in CAD and soon evolved as Thomas and Timothy added more curves and metal stretchers to the design. Here is the process in detail:

Parameter 3

Utilizing a basic ball-bearing 7” swivel, create a top and bottom construction without losing cohesion of the three legged stance reference and maintaining stability.
